Dr. Don spends his free time hunting, raising cattle and traveling.

Sirena Mick
Sirena Mick, mother of three beautiful daughters and four lovely fur babies, comes to us with years of experience handling small animals. Sirena's hands-on training in caring for small animals at the local animal shelter has given her a great deal of insight in animal handling and her compassion for animals knows no boundaries. Sirena is currently in school working towards earning her veterinarian technician license!

Dr. Izabella Hedstrom
Dr. Bella, originally from New Glen, NJ, is a graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She currently resides in Chapman, KS with her husband, Tyler, and their two dogs, 11 cats and a retired holstein cow. Dr. Bella is currently serving as one of our relief veterinarians and also has her own mixed animal mobile practice. Dr. Bella takes great joy in being able to care for pets and help their owners have a greater understanding of their pets' current needs. She enjoys gardening in her spare time.

Kim Mellies
Kim is likely who will answer your calls and greet you as you come into the clinic as she's currently serving as our receptionist! Prior to her new role, Kim was the primary assistant for our large animal appointments and can likely point you in the right direction for all of your large animal needs! Kim was born and raised near Holton and stayed close to home. She earned her associates of general studies through Highland Community College. All of Kim's free time is spent with her 3 kids, running to and from activities and spending time with family and friends!

Mercedes Hennis
Mercedes is originally from Holton and graduated from Royal Valley in 2012 and is currently studying to earn her vet tech license. When she's not working, she loves spending time with her dogs, Eevee, Gypsy, as well as her cat, Layla. Mercedes and her fiancé, Jordan, are also kept busy with their handsome baby boy who will be one in December. Mercedes' favorite part of being a vet tech is getting to help with surgeries and performing dentals!

Zelda
Hi guys! My name is Zelda. I'm the smallest member of the HVHC team. Sadly, something happened to my mom before I was even weaned, so I had to learn to survive on my own until Dr. Amy took me in! You will probably see me out and about playing with my brother Merlin!

Kelsey Beel
Kelsey, office manager, is originally from Valentine, NE and graduated from Holton High in 2009. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from Kansas State University in 2013. Over the last ten years she has focused on large animal working in all sectors at Cargill Cattle Feeders in the Texas panhandle and then on to cow/calf production in northern Nebraska and South Dakota. She also has some experience with swine production. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys taking photos of nature, reading, playing with her dogs, Sadie and Willow, as well as some light leatherwork.

Sidney Eisman
Sidney started working at the clinic while still in high school as a Kennel Tech and has now joined our team as a full-time Vet Tech, currently going through the proper schooling to earn her license. Sidney loves anything involved with large animal and especially enjoys getting to tag along on farm calls. She has four pets at home, Bullet, Cinch, Dori and Rex.

Merlin
Hello everybody! My name is Merlin, and I am the newest member of the Heartland team. I may be the friendliest kitty here and absolutely love ALL of the attention! I enjoy spending my days wandering around finding anyone who will pet me, including clients who are here for appointments. Be careful, I'm sneaky and will dart outside if you don't watch me closely!

Gandalf
Hi everyone!! My name is Gandalf and I'm the new resident barn cat! Don't let my size intimidate you as I'm one of the friendliest cats here and will gladly accept any and all pets that you have to offer!
