Meet our team of dedicated veterinary professionals and clinic assistants.

Dr. Amy Sunday

A 2012 Graduate of the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Amy returns to northeast Kansas to provide veterinary services to her hometown area. She and Dr. Don Sunday took ownership of the practice in June of 2015. Dr. Amy's practice also focuses on herd health and medical and surgical companion animal cases. Dr. Amy takes great pride in being a Cat Friendly certified veterinarian. She enjoys exercising, reading, traveling and spending time with her kids and pets at home.

Dr. Don Sunday

Dr. Don Sunday is originally from Dallastown, PA. He received his associates degree from Black Hawk East and then went on to receive both his Bachelor's and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 2012. Heand Dr. Amy Sunday took ownership of the practice in June of 2015. Dr. Don's favorite tasks at the clinic are performing surgery and embryo transfers. Dr. Don spends his free time hunting, raising cattle and traveling.

Gwynivere & Adelyn Sunday

Future Staff!!  ​This sassy duo likes to keep everyone on their toes and to be involved and assist as much as possible. It's so fun getting to watch them grow and be part of this family owned business!

Dr. Paige Bloom

Dr. Paige Bloom (Thompson) is originally from Omaha, NE. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Kansas State University and then went on to earn her D.V.M. from Ross University. Dr. Paige has been serving as one of our relief vets since 2018. She enjoys working with both companion and large animals, with laceration repairs being her favorite task. Dr. Paige finds that providing services and treatments that make the patients' lives better, most rewarding. Dr. Paige, along with her husband Andy, have three children, Tayley, Hudson and Grant. In her free time, she can be found spending quality time with her children and going on daily runs with her kids and dogs.

Dr. Ellen (Livvy) Jones

Dr. Livvy has been serving as one of our relief vets since December 2022. She is originally from Pauls Valley, OK and currently resides in Manhattan with her husband along with their two dogs, River (pictured) and Rio and four tortoises, Lentil, Garbanzo, Lima and Diablo. Dr. Livvy received her Bachelor's of Fine Art from Washington University in St. Louis and then went on to vet school at Oklahoma State University. Since graduating in 2017, she has practiced at both Petco and Banfield as well as doing some telemedicine. She's also been doing relief work for 3 years now. In her free time, Dr. Livvy enjoys hiking, traveling, running, skiing and scuba diving!!

Dr. Izabella (Bella) Hedstrom

Dr. Bella, originally from New Glen, NJ, is a graduate of Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She currently resides in Chapman, KS with her husband, Tyler, and their two dogs, 11 cats and a retired holstein cow. Dr. Bella has been serving as one of our relief veterinarians since May 2023 and also has her own mixed animal mobile practice. Dr. Bella takes great joy in being able to care for pets and help their owners have a greater understanding of their pets' current needs. She enjoys gardening in her spare time.

Sirena Mick

Sirena Mick, mother of three beautiful daughters and four lovely fur babies, comes to us with years of experience handling small animals and has been with us since February 2017.. Sirena's hands-on training in caring for small animals at the local animal shelter has given her a great deal of insight in animal handling and her compassion for animals knows no boundaries. Sirena is currently in school working towards earning her veterinarian technician license!

Kelsey Beel

Kelsey has been with the practice since July of 2021. She serves as the clinics office manager, is originally from Valentine, NE and graduated from Holton High in 2009. She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science from Kansas State University in 2013. Over the last ten years she has focused on large animal working in all sectors at Cargill Cattle Feeders in the Texas panhandle and then on to cow/calf production in northern Nebraska and South Dakota. She also has some experience with swine production. In her free time, Kelsey enjoys taking photos of nature, reading, playing with her dogs, Sadie and Willow, paddleboarding and planting flowers!

Mercedes Moseley

Mercedes is originally from Holton and graduated from Royal Valley in 2012 and is currently studying to earn her vet tech license. Mercedes has been a member of the team since November of 2021. When she's not working, she loves spending time with her dogs, Eevee, Gypsy, and Moxie, as well as her cat, Layla. Mercedes and her husband, Jordan, are also kept busy with their handsome little boy, Easton. Mercedes' favorite part of being a vet tech is getting to help with surgeries and performing dentals!

Sidney Eisman

Sidney started working at the clinic while still in high school as a Kennel Tech in December 2018 and has now joined our team as a full-time Vet Tech, currently going through the proper schooling to earn her license. Sidney loves anything involved with large animal and especially enjoys getting to tag along on farm calls. She has four pets at home, Bullet, Cinch, Dori and Rex.

Merlin

Hello everybody! My name is Merlin, and I am the newest member of the Heartland team. I may be the friendliest kitty here and absolutely love ALL of the attention! I enjoy spending my days wandering around finding anyone who will pet me, including clients who are here for appointments. Be careful, I'm sneaky and will dart outside if you don't watch me closely!

Raegan Watkins

Raegan first joined the HVHC team in February 2024 as a kennel technician, which has recently evolved into a full-time position as a vet assistant and lead kennel technician. After graduating from Holton High, she began taking courses through Penn Foster and is working towards becoming a licensed veterinary technician.

Zelda

Hi guys! My name is Zelda. I'm the smallest member of the HVHC team. Sadly, something happened to my mom before I was even weaned, so I had to learn to survive on my own until Dr. Amy took me in! You will probably see me out and about playing with my brother Merlin!

Cam & Jadis

If you've been in recently, you may have noticed these two new faces, likely terrorizing anyone in sight! Cam & Jadis are our newest additions to the clinic and they are super rambunctious so be on the lookout when you come in!!
